Stop Motion Animator presents itself as an easy-to-use tool to create stop motion animations easily, yet a critical examination reveals a piece of software that actively undermines the animating environment. This review should provide a clear analysis of its failings: difficulty managing animations, annoyingly slow, frame-by-frame editing, and its simplicity that lacks features essential for advanced animating. A major issue with Stop Motion Animator is its simplicity. While it may not sound like a problem initially, it does not have features that allow advanced animators to animate productively. For example, professional animators integrate their cameras with motorised rigs and turntables. Entry-level software lacks the hardware interfaces to control these robotics, and the built-in editing features lack advanced tools like smart-select, shapes, or a paint bucket. Another issue with Stop Motion Animator is its technical weaknesses when managing animations. When users complete an animation, the extension saves it as a file which, upon opening, is blank. Additionally, drawing or erasing on high-resolution photographs occasionally warps the frame entirely. Warped or corrupted frames cannot be easily undone or restored and often take hours to fix. Furthermore, Stop Motion Animator's extremely slow editing hinders and disrupts workflows, while also annoying the animator. This is caused by excessive data payload, non-linear timing limits, and processing lag. These software and hardware bottlenecks turn what should be easy, minimal-stress editing into an agonising crawl. Resolving them often requires specialised tools like Dragonframe or upgraded hardware, which newbies of stop motion animating often have not installed. In conclusion, Stop Motion Animator has various problems and often loses usage to efficient, more advanced animation software. While it can be used by newbies or amateur primary-school students under a controlled environment, advanced animators find it far too restrictive and unreliable for serious production.

It works fine, it is free so you pay for what you get. I only used it to capture the pictures and made sure I did not have more than 30 pics in a series. Then I would save that video file and proceed to the next batch. When I tried a larger set the app had a tendency to crash. I used another video app to add sound and other effects.

I had multiple problems, first when I saved it did not work, it made a file but the file would be blank this happened with 21 other student using this app. the next problem was smaller, only a few students had this problem, when you were adding audio sometimes it would do the count down then stop. Also when I pressed stop the audio kept going and there was no way of stopping it, again multiple other students had this problem. I would give this app 0 stars if that was an option.

when you save your animations it is impossible to be able to watch them. It does not say your fps. It is fine for little kids or for elementary school but if you want to animate good, do not use the awful app. if i could give 0 stars I would
