Kasm Workspaces is a modern VDI platform that heavily leverages the power of containers and web native technology to deliver a rich user experience that is both quick to deploy and easy to onboard users.
From the Kasm Workspaces app, users instantly launch Linux and Windows based VDI sessions that are stream to their browser. Various peripheral access is available via standard browser native facilities such as webcam , microphone and gamepad passthrough
This extension enables smart card pass-through for RDP-based and KasmVNC based Kasm sessions accessed via the web native client on ChromeOS devices and Windows and MacOS client devices with the Kasm smart card native client. It allows users to leverage their physical smart cards directly within the remote session for tasks such as PIN-based authentication, digital signing, and certificate-based operations in Windows applications.
The extension utilizes the Remote Desktop Protocol's smart card channel to securely transmit smart card operations. For enhanced security, cache-related functions are handled within the extension, ensuring sensitive smart card data remains localized to the user's browser.
For more detailed information on setup, usage, and troubleshooting, please refer to the [Smart Card Pass-through documentation](https://docs.kasm.com/docs/latest/how_to/smartcard_passthrough.html).
