I have an extensive recipe file stored on my computer and backed up to the cloud. Can I move those saved recipes into this extension? I don't see an option to do that, only to save from "any website." TIA
I love this program. I use it almost daily. My favorite part is the ability to add, change and save recipes from any source, Even Taste of Home recipes. Most times the author will have a detailed description of what the recipe is and small details that enhance it but the recipe itself will leave out. I will take many of those details and copy and paste them to the recipe as originally saved in my file of recipes. Sometimes it does not save the recipe, but if you copy the URL and use "add to recipes", it will copy it to your account. Oft times the recipe doesn't copy but if put the name you want on the same page, and if you click on the URL, it will take you to the original page with everything plus the recipe. I will often just change the name so I will remember what it is. Grandma's Favorite Cake is not the same as Yellow Lemon Cake, but it will be what you want. I wish it would let me add pictures but otherwise, I'm happy with it,
This extension is super helpful, but I think it could be even better. It would be really cool if it could show a list of saved recipes or let you save a recipe when you open the extension dialog instead of just having one option.
I've been using this app for several months and I like it. It doesn't work on all cooking sites though. I wish it had a way to import a photo from the creator's page for those cases where I have to input the instructions/ingredients myself.
How well it imports just depends on how the recipe blog website is formatted. Sometimes it imports perfectly, other times I have to go in and edit it myself. One annoying bit is that if the ingredients are broken into different categories on the website (for example: "dressing" header then those ingredients, then "salad" header with the rest of the ingredients), it will only import the first section of the ingredients.
I have the chrome extension but can't figure out how to add a recipe. Every time I do it gives me gibberish.
So far so good
