This monetization is a cash grab. The idea that this extension requires "significant time and resources" is laughable. $65/year is wild for what this does. ChatGPT and/or Claude can be used to make this exact extension even with zero coding knowledge. I recommend that everyone go ahead and do that. I also worry about the farming and monetization of my data now that the TOS has been updated. No thanks.
This extension, which I have used for several years, is only worth it if it is free... I might be willing to throw $10/year at it MAX, but I refuse to pay $65/year for shaded blocks on my work calendar. Like others, I will find a free alternative or format my own. I understand it takes time and resources to maintain, but such an inflated price almost certainly is a cash grab.
$6/mo for color shading on a calendar. The basic Netflix plan is $9/mo. Not to mention, this extension doesn't need any further development or resources. It's a simple nice-to-have. Just found out: you can ask Claude to write this exact extension for you! No need to pay for it. Took less than 5 minutes to set up. Basically, you save 3 small files into a folder on your desktop (or anywhere) and then you load that folder into chrome extensions. It's perfect!
will create my own for $6/month. Good luck. Not worth it.
Was a great product before the new laughable $6/monthly subscription. Luckily, I have Claude Cowork and was able to create the extension myself in under five minutes.
I don't know who you are and anything about your life but I laughed out loud when I saw the pay model of SIX DOLLARS PER MONTHS. Crazy world where people think it's okay to ask for such a monthly amount for such a simple piece of software. Developers used to believe in helping people for free. Don't get me wrong I appreciate your effort and the result of your work but I'm uninstalling this.
An OK, simple extension now made paid. 6 dollars a month for long-term users who just would color a few blocks. The extension suddenly deactivates and then I find the pricing page. Give me a break. Not even offering a lot but redundancies with the forced-paid option. Plus using this extension free was a pain because you'd have to manually add the shaded blocks for all 7 days when you needed homogenous daily setups; you couldn't just drag and replicate in any way There also is no option of different shade settings to overlay on calendars as an entire frame
Was 5 stars. Reduced to 1 star because of new permissions in the updated version as of May 15, 2026, plus it appears to be a paid extension now: - Read and change your data on extensionpay.com - Read your browsing history Unless you're monetizing my data, there's no reason for you to read my browsing history.
Used to work great, not there's a £5 a month charge... I would have been willing to make a one off £10 payment or something but £5/month is absolutley insane for what the product is. Respect the creator trying to get their bag but bad pricing strategy is going to drive away users.
It's great but the obvious flaw is that the shading completely shades out the grid of the non-work hours. It needs an opacity option for the shading, or the choice to leave the time grid intact, or to recolour it in the non-work period so we can use the non-work period easily too.
