Title: Absolutely Worthless – Don’t Waste Your Time! I installed CPS Tab Limiter hoping for a functional and efficient way to curb tab overload—but what a colossal letdown. Performance: The extension claims it’s a “Manifest V3 port … limits number of open tabs,” but it’s about as effective as a flat balloon. Every time I tried to open a tab beyond the “limit,” Chrome just let it through like it didn’t even notice. I still ended up with 20+ tabs—exactly what it promised to prevent. User Experience: There’s literally zero user interface. No options, no settings, nothing. If you’re expecting a way to customize your tab limit, whitelist URLs, or get notifications—forget about it. You get nothing but a bland gray icon. Reliability: The extension laissez-faire approach to limiting tabs means it’s pretty much unreliable. Sometimes it randomly kicks in… at least that’s what I think. Or maybe not. There was no consistency to whether it would block or ignore tab openings. Updates & Support: The version is 0.3.1 and it “updated February 15, 2023,” which tells me the developers have probably forgotten this exists . There’s no support forum, no user guide—nothing to help if it fails, which turns out to be often. Privacy Claims: Sure, it says they “will not collect or use your data” and that it’s offered by Coweta Public Schools with a reassuring-but‑vague promise that your data isn’t transferred for shady purposes But when the extension doesn’t do anything, that claim feels like hiding a vault of bugs that were “never collected.” Privacy is moot if the rest doesn’t even work. Bottom Line: CPS Tab Limiter sounds like exactly what someone needing tab control would want—but in reality, it's just an empty promise in a 35 KB installer It does nothing, hasn't been updated in ages, and offers no interface or settings to users. Consider alternatives like Tab Limiter or Tab Limiter Pro if you're looking for actual tab management functionality.
