Instead of manually scrubbing through video timestamps to find specific information, users can ask natural language questions and get AI-generated answers with clickable timestamps that jump to the exact moment in the video

1. User installs extension and opens YouTube. 2. Extension injects a sidebar toggle button on YouTube watch pages. 3. User clicks the button to open the PromptTube sidebar. 4. User is prompted to enter their own Gemini API key (stored in chrome.storage.sync or localStorage). 5. Extension fetches the video transcript from YouTube. 6. User asks questions in the sidebar chat; the extension sends the transcript + question to the Gemini API (generativelanguage.googleapis.com) and displays the AI response with clickable timestamps.

sidebar.js and popup.js are heavily minified/bundled React code, making it difficult to trace the exact UI flow for API key entry and chat interaction within the sidebar. However, the content.js script clearly shows the API key storage/retrieval mechanism and the iframe-based sidebar injection. The external host analysis confirmed generativelanguage.googleapis.com and makersuite.google.com as API endpoints used by the extension.
