Exactly what I wanted! No messing with buttons or adding toggles- just changes the background color. I very much prefer to change the page color myself if I feel the need, so I really appreciate that this extension doesn't automatically invert the page/text :) My only note is that some of the elements are a little wonky- like the zoom toggle looks off. But I don't mind.

Only changes the background AROUND the document to a medium grey. The document itself stays as black text on a white background. Fail.

This is just what I'm looking for! However, I had to knock off a star because some of the menus have the original font color resulting in black-on-dark-gray. Fix that, and I'll bump it up to 5 stars
