In Chrome all standalone image pages (for example, when you right-click and choose "View Image"), show their image on a white background. This is good for images that were created with the expectation that they would be viewed on a white background.
However, most people who take care with the images that they create don't make this silly mistake. With this add-on installed, you won't have to see that ugly white background behind your transparent images. Now your images will be rendered against the black background, making it easier to see where the transparency starts and begins.

Works exactly as intended!! Would be nice if there was a easy-to-reach toggle so that I don't have to manually turn off and on the extension in its settings for when I'd quickly like to see darker transparent elements (such as the shadow under a logo), but that's not too common.
This USED to work, but as of October 14th 2025, it no longer works. Would really really appreciate it if this extension can be updated. Please and thank you~
Spent hours trying to find something liek this!
Doesn't work.
Works perfectly. Just what I needed. Thanks!

Great work, thanks!
Good job!
Found it on Reddit, and works fine. My only complaint is that it doesn't work on local images being drag-'n-dropped onto chrome to view it in a standalone tab. Something I've often done to get around Windows' horrible image viewer.
Thanks, I couldn't tell what had happened, thought it was an issue with my own computer because googling it was giving me unrelated answers. Found this linked from a reddit post after searching for several minutes.
