This extension prevents "Google search" page from showing up when you open a new tab.
You can also disable the "Sign in to Chrome" page that is shown when you open a new Chrome window, just go to "chrome://settings" page, choose "Open a specific page or set of pages" and enter "chrome://newtab".

Surprisingly this appears to be the only way to make a "new tab" in Chrome show up as totally blank.
It works exactly how I want it to. It handles light and dark mode, is fast, and it doesn't try to do anything else.

This extension making me not accidently click Gmail. Thankfully!
Google's Chrome new Tab page seems to have a bug and gives me 100% CPU usage and locks up browser for ~5 seconds. This extension replaces that page and I'm back to opening tabs instantly again. Thanks!
Very good without trackers and data collection.
Its great! Seems like google doesn't really like it as it was switched off and suggested to remove it. So I switched it back on.
Would love option to switch color. Dark mode grey is a bit light for me
