MSA Assets

MSA Assets is a Chrome extension that monitors Chromebook activity and sends data for visualization and analysis. Perfect for IT asset management, educational institutions, and personal monitoring needs.

The extension tracks comprehensive system resources including CPU usage per core, average utilization, architecture details, and model information. It monitors memory capacity and available memory in real-time, plus storage devices with capacity and type classification.

For activity tracking, MSA Assets records website domain visits and page titles from browsing history, captures real-time tab changes as they happen, and reports the currently active website. A heartbeat mechanism confirms extension activity with online/offline status detection and browser session tracking.

Built on Manifest V3 with service worker architecture, it collects data every 5 minutes (configurable) with minimal resource impact. All data transmits securely.

Deployment options include unlisted for personal use with direct link, private for organization-wide deployment, or unpacked for development and testing.

Privacy is prioritized with no keystroke logging, no screenshots, no microphone or camera access, and transparent data collection with a clear privacy policy.
