ProtonDB for Steam adds proton badges to the Steam game pages.

This way, you know how well a game runs on Linux before you actually buy it.

The extensions shows you the proton rating, if available, and also if a game has a native Linux version alongside it.

The project is open-source and can be found on GitHub.

User browses the Steam store as normal. The extension's content scripts detect Steam game pages and search results, extract the AppID, and send it to the background service worker. The background worker fetches the ProtonDB summary and Steam Deck verification data via public APIs. The content scripts then render color-coded compatibility badges inline on the page, linking to the full ProtonDB report. Users can customize which badges appear and their colors via the extension's options page.
