The chrome extension for betterbili provides users which the ability to load high quality dual subtitles (chinese and english) on top of their bilibili videos.
Unlike automatic subtitles, betterbili subtitles are **not** powered by real-time machine translation, which means they are super high quality. They capture context, language nuances, names, internet terms, slang, etc.
It also means they are ultra fast and load on the stop, so you'll never have the bad UX of laggy or stuttery subtitles that you can't follow along.

Exactly what I needed for studying. I use Bilibili for listening practice, but it's hard to study with. This extension fixes the problems I have. The main thing is the dual subtitles. It gives you the Chinese characters, the Pinyin, and a good English translation all at once. When I hear a word I don't know, I can just look down and see it right there. It's much clearer than the regular subtitles. I also like that I can click on any character to see how it's written stroke-by-stroke. The feature to repeat one sentence over and over is a big help for my listening. Being able to export words directly to Anki saves me a lot of time. It's just a very practical tool that makes watching videos on Bilibili a real study session.
