While browsing the web — reading, clicking links, searching — it’s easy to lose track and open dozens of tabs. A search results page has 10 links, and you open each one in a new tab. Then every page you open has more links — and you open even more tabs. Soon your browser is overflowing with dozens or even hundreds of open tabs. You lose focus, forget why you opened a page, and can’t even tell where you are anymore. But the problem isn't you — it's the outdated 2D browsing model.
🌐 How 3D browsing helps solve the too many tabs problem
While traditional solutions like tab managers still operate within the flat 2D model, LightWindow introduces a fundamentally new approach: adding a third dimension to viewing pages. Instead of opening every link in a new tab, you can open a floating preview window directly over the current page to take a quick look. Clicking a link inside this preview opens another nested window. This creates a tree of views — all inside a single tab.
Preview windows don’t get lost, don’t clutter the interface, and most importantly — don’t overload your tab bar. You stay in the same flow and can quickly return to where you were.
This reduces the pressure on the second dimension — tabs — keeping only the most essential pages there.

Feature Request: 1. add hover option to the Way to open preview by just staying a period of ms on the link and ability to customize the Timeout (ms) of it just like Via hold (long click). 2. add option to adjust the pop out window size, such as default, compact, large, tall, wide, full width and ability to customize the size. 3. add option to decide how the pop out window disappears, such as leaving the range of the pop out windows or clicking somewhere else. All in all, Excellent extension!
好用，但提一个意见，最好可以让弹窗pin住，不至于焦点转移后弹窗自动消失（这是目前最大的痛点）

Hands down the absolute best Popup / Link Preview solution on the entire webstore. I've tried them all. The long-press activation is sooooooo slick. Amazing. Note: Logging into websites (like chatgpt) currently seems to impossible (sure there is a reason). Request: would love it if url parameters were passed from links into the preview. (Use case: text-fragment links. Eg, links that take you directly to a piece of text on a page. Imagine being able to, not only, quickly preview a webpage you saved, but a specific PART... of a webpage you saved! Cheers!
Really nice extension. The nesting tab feature is an overlooked feature by many other competitor extensions. Please consider adding the ability to `pin` the preview(s)!

WONDERFUL EXTENSION! it's 5/5 worthy, I just wish I could remap the shortcut, because in my case (and many) the middle mouse wheel click already opens links in a new tab, so I either have the preview open with a new tab in the background, or the extension doesn't registre the click at all. If it was ctrl+left mouse click it would be perfect and much more confortable for me (have to apply pressure to do the mouse middle click) , or anything else. regardless of that, I just want to thank the developer of this extension for making my life somewhat easier :)
