This extension offers a toolbar button to save the current page in the MHTML/MHT web archive format, which converts all online links to the offline version and saves all online resources offline enabled.
Right-click Context Menu Functions:
1. Design Mode: You can edit the current page and add or remove images.
2. Reader View (declutter): Simplifies the page by keeping the main content only. It removes banners, toolbars, and advertisements from the page. This extension uses Mozilla's Readability library to simplify web pages.
3. Keep Selection Only: Creates a new document from the selected text. Use it if you need to archive part of a page.
MHTML (short for MIME HTML) is a file extension for a Web page archive file format. The archived Web page is an MHTML document. MHTML saves the Web page content and incorporates external resources, such as images, applets, Flash animations, and so on, into HTML documents.

It seems to have been updated on August 16, but the problem has not yet been resolved The problem has not been fixed for about 10 months since October 2024 The issues that need to be fixed are as follows: ・The file name format is not working, and when you save the page, the name becomes “Download” ・You cannot enter the extension unless you set the Mime Type to multipart/related It works fine in Edge This extension is very convenient and simple, so I hope the issues will be fixed and it will be usable again
Broken, clicking on the icon does noting nor does the option on the mouse console menu do anything. I really need one of these save page as file (or text) to work dang it!

How can I open MHTML documents? To open an MHTML document, drag and drop the file into your browser window, and it will be displayed like any other HTML file.
Hey dev, you provided us an extension to download webpages as mht and mhtml but can you guide us on how to read these saved files? Since I cant find any software, IE was there but not anymore post discontinuation, so please guide. I have saved some webpages but cant read them. No extension mht and mhtml file reader or software on windows or chrome?
It's downloading text but not images which makes it almost useless for much of my needs.
