Rotten Tabs helps you fight tab overload by tracking how long each tab stays open. It automatically groups stale tabs, warns you visually, and eventually closes them — but with a twist: you can always save a tab by returning to it and staying focused on it until the countdown badge reaches zero, without switching windows or tabs.

🎯 Minimalist by design

No clutter, no complicated settings. One simple slider lets you choose how long tabs are allowed to live (1 to 7 days). That’s it.

🧠 Brutally focused

Rotten Tabs doesn’t offer “undo” buttons or restore panels. The only way to save a tab is to prove you need it — just stay on it until the countdown badge hits zero.

Rotten Tabs is exactly what I didn’t know I needed. My browser used to be a graveyard of “I’ll read this later” tabs — and let’s be real, I never did. 😅 But this extension gently (and hilariously) forces me to either commit to a tab or let it go. The visual cues are fun, the countdown badge adds just the right pressure, and I love the little moment of victory when I "revive" a tab. It’s simple, smart, and totally in line with how I want to use the web — more intentionally. Huge thanks to the dev for making something that’s both minimalist and brutally effective. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to stop drowning in tabs and start browsing with purpose!
