You guys are luck you have NetSupport School Student My school uses GoGuardian
As a student, I am deeply concerned about the school's decision to require us to use this monitoring website/platform, collect certain data, etc.]. While I understand the school may have good intentions around safety, learning, or administration, this practice crosses a fundamental line: it violates our privacy without our informed consent. We are not just data points. We are young people whose digital lives, habits, thoughts, and personal information are being collected, often without us fully understanding the extent or the long-term consequences. This is not a minor administrative tool — it is a serious erosion of personal boundaries. If the school can justify this level of surveillance today, what stops it from expanding further tomorrow? Once the precedent is set that our private information is fair game for institutional access, the door opens to greater overreach. Even more troubling is the question of where our data actually goes. Who owns it? Is it stored securely on school servers, or is it handed to a third-party company? Does this website or platform sell, share, or monetize student data with advertisers, data brokers, or other entities? Many educational technology companies have faced scrutiny for exactly this — profiting from student information while offering vague privacy policies that most students and even parents never read. We deserve full transparency, not assumptions. As students, we are expected to learn about digital citizenship, ethics, and personal responsibility. Yet how can we internalize those values when the very institution teaching them treats our privacy as optional? True education should model respect for individual rights, not normalize constant monitoring. Surveillance culture teaches fear and self-censorship more than it teaches safety. I respectfully urge the school to: Immediately review and disclose exactly what student data is collected, how long it is kept, who has access, and whether it is shared or sold. Provide clear opt-out options where possible and obtain meaningful consent. Explore less invasive alternatives that achieve the same goals without compromising our fundamental right to privacy. We trust our school to protect us — not just physically, but also in the digital spaces where so much of our lives now unfold. Please do not betray that trust by treating student data as a resource to be harvested. I am happy to discuss this further as a concerned student who wants our school to lead with both safety and respect for personal dignity.
absolutely horrendous extension L google
this is dodgy spyware used to invade the privacy of every student they can even watch you at home which means they know your ip dont ruin me and other students livs
this is horrible. just because we're in middle school, doesn't mean teachers just invade our privacy smh. they just expect the worst case scenarios when they look at that site we're on. if they want privacy and they get it, we should too.
It is quite afordable for western country but not for 3rd world underdeloping contries.
easy to bypass on cromebooks at school just log in with a home account and it as no right to automatically install! no school has rights to your personal google account
Luar biasa
Terrible, basically spyware that you install on purpose, my school uses it to invade the privacy of their students.
