Description
Font Rendering Enhancer comes from Opera Font Rendering by thunder13. Darker and clearer text on almost every page (http and https). Modified and ported Mac OSX Font Rendering by proxxy (from Opera on Presto engine).
"The windows browsers render the fonts based on the normal sub-pixel rendering without implementing Font smoothing, anti-aliasing as noticeable as Mac OSX. This tweak applies text to be displayed more anti-aliased using CSS3 property. So modern browsers supporting CSS3 and userstyle support would be able to support it. ;)"

I am a website developer and I can say confidently this does not work at all. Change my mind!
Font Rendering Enhancer is very good but it makes certain fonts e.g. emoji from Segoe UI Emoji look bad. The developer should add some "Exclusion list" for certain fonts e.g. emoji fonts so they are not touched at all in the browser.

Si, hace su trabajo, pero me gustaría que la opción de oscurecer fuera un poco más amplia. Un poco más, nada de exageraciones. Me gusto porque esta extension no altera las fotos y videos como hacen otras que las pone mas oscuras de lo normal, o sea, pone el contraste en toda la pagina web. Esta solo contrasta los fonts, me gusto. Otra sugerencia: Habilitar o Desabilitar en esta Pagina. Importante esto. No todas las Webs necesitan contraste.

Is this a joke? Installed and all I could find was a "text width" adjustment that doesn't work. Why are theses developers wasting our time? Is this supposed to make text darker?

this actually works! amazing
FINALLY it works now since the extension has been updated on May 6, 2024 version 0.3.0 after no updates for more than 10 years. However, the sliding font width function still doesn't work in Chrome. That's why I give the extension 4 not 5 stars. Fix the font width slider and I will give it 5 stars.
