The best extension I’ve ever used for checking layout accuracy. You can connect designs directly from Figma , overlay a preview image on top of your page, or add your own grid and guides. And the cherry on top is the extension’s clean and pleasant UI. Highly recommended!
The grid + guides combo replaced three other tools. I used to run a pixel grid extension, a separate ruler tool, and a column-grid bookmarklet. Pixel Scout replaces all three. The 8/10/16px presets are right where I want them, the column grid handles 12-col layouts cleanly with adjustable gutters and margins, and the click-and-drag ruler shows width/height/diagonal at once. Color and opacity are tweakable so the grid never fights the design underneath. Clean UI, no popup spam, no telemetry asks. Exactly what a tool like this should be.
Finally, a Figma overlay that just works. I've tried half a dozen "design overlay" extensions over the years and most of them either force you to export PNGs by hand or break the moment the design changes. Pixel Scout connects directly to Figma with a personal access token — I pick the frame, it loads, and a one-click Refresh pulls the latest version after the designer pushes updates. The Diff blink mode is the killer feature for me: instead of squinting at 50% opacity, I just toggle blink and every misaligned pixel jumps out. Saved me at least a couple of hours on the last sprint.
