When navigating to an image file on Reddit, like when right-clicking an image and selecting “Open image in new tab”, Reddit displays the image within its image view page. Disabling this page allows the image to be viewed independently, without the surrounding Reddit interface.

* In earlier versions of this extension, there was an 'Open Image' button that provided convenient access to the source images of posts. However, due to constraints imposed by Reddit's redesign in 2024, this feature is no longer available.

reddit account got hacked and deleted next day after installing this
Does not work, right click on image and opens image in preview.redd.it..
Fixes a problem that shouldn't exist.
It does open the image as you described. But what I want is to download a jpg image instead of webp. Can you help?

Works like it should, you can now simply open images.
Does what it says on the tin.
Stopped working. I've had it for a while and it always worked but it stopped working about a month or so ago. It used to open the image in a new tab and that image could be zoomed. Now, it opens in the same tab and doesn't zoom properly, same as not having the extension at all. 5 stars when it worked but now 1 star.
