Local Route is a fast URL launcher designed for developers and power users who need instant access to local servers, internal tools, and frequently used websites.
With a single keyboard shortcut, a macOS-style dock overlay appears on top of any webpage, allowing you to launch saved URLs without switching tabs, typing addresses, or breaking focus. Whether you’re working with multiple localhost ports, dev environments, admin panels, or dashboards, Local Route keeps everything one action away.
The extension supports both mouse and keyboard-first workflows. Use the dock for visual access or switch to the command palette to search and launch shortcuts instantly with fuzzy matching. For even faster navigation, Local Route integrates with Chrome’s omnibox, letting you open shortcuts directly from the address bar.
Shortcuts are automatically enhanced with smart icons. Favicons are fetched for websites, while local or internal URLs receive clean, generated letter icons. You can organize everything using color-coded categories, flexible tags, and separate workspace profiles for different projects or contexts.
Local Route also includes optional usage statistics to help you understand which tools you rely on most and optimize your workflow over time.
Privacy is a core principle. Local Route does not collect, track, or transmit any user data. All shortcuts, settings, and statistics are stored locally using Chrome’s built-in storage and sync APIs. No analytics, no telemetry, no external servers.
