Scrapyard is a bookmarking extension where you can store and organize bookmarks, page fragments, complete HTML pages and PDF documents, or take notes. It is intended as a modern alternative to the legacy ScrapBook add-on. All archived content is accessible on the Android platform if shared through a cloud service. Scrapyard also supports the import of RDF archives of the legacy ScrapBook. See the online help for a more detailed description of the add-on features: https://tinyurl.com/scrapyard-help .

The add-on has two storage modes:

- Filesystem - in this mode, all archived content is stored inside a user-specified directory in the filesystem. This mode requires the installation of the Scrapyard backend application.

- Browser internal storage - in this mode, all archived content is stored inside the browser profile. Although the installation of the backend application is not required, some advanced features, such as archive toolbar, RDF import, or uploading of local files, are not available without it due to restrictions imposed by the WebExtensions API.

I can't believe that after so many years of not having a scrapbook replacement, I run across this which I enjoy even more. I just installed it today and so far it's working beyond my expectations. Update to my review above. I have to remove 2 of the 5 stars from this. I love this extension but trying to get any help from the github site is useless. My extension has suddenly just stopped working. I can't capture and the pages already captured are no longer opening. Additionally if you're using a recent Linux, the backend install just doesn't work due to the fact that pip is no longer being used in favor of pipx. Since the installer.py script uses pip, the installation crashes. I had to manually convert the pip lines in the installer to pipx which seem to work but after the installation, the scrapyard settings page states that the backend is not installed. So now my scrapyard installation is a mess. But since I backup my system daily, I completely uninstalled scrapyard,installed it fresh and copied my good backup of the browser (Vivaldi) extension and the home config folder which should have put everything exactly the way it was yesterday. But no. I see my all of my captured pages in the scrapyard page but none are opening and I can't capture anything new even after a clean restore. So now I'm pissed that it seems that I lost all my captures even thought I religiously back them up. OK, I take it back. Today I tried again and everything is back to normal. i don't know why. The only thing I did differently was to refresh scrapyard. So it's back to 5 stars again. Still, I would love to know what went wrong.

Scrapyard is Not Merely “Brilliant”— It is an Absolutely _Necessary_ Extension:: Not Only does it provide Astounding Bookmark Organization, But Consider if you will:: What If the Owner of a Certain Website—Hugely Critical for your personal research Decides to just Disappear Next Week!? BOOM!!—A Website you Had Considered to be of Simply STELLAR Excellence . . . Simply EXITS your World!! –– Well, That is . . . . NOT True if you had merely “Archived” that Website in __THIS__ Extension. — An Extension SO Brilliant And So NEEDED That it Can Actually DEFINE a Browser — Precisely as it did for Firefox!!
