Advanced WebSocket Client is a Google Chrome extension designed to help construct custom WebSocket requests and handle responses for directly testing your WebSocket services.
It supports the JSON request/response format, and its main feature is that you don't have to strictly follow RFC formatting rules.
You can use single quotes, double quotes, or no quotes for string keys and values, as well as trailing commas in object literals.
Additionally, it supports both single-line and block comments, just like in JavaScript.

A Simple tool to help test WebSocket Service
Construct custom Web Socket requests and handle responses to directly test your Web Socket services,Includes Socket.IO support.
This plugin has become a useful tool for me for quickly testing WS-endpoints without writing client code. Flexible work with JSON, shortcuts. Only thing missing is Socket.IO support
I've tested most of the WebSocket clients available in the Chrome Web Store, and Advanced WebSocket Client clearly stands out as the best. It's able to handle very large result sets and presents the JSON output in a clean and readable format..
Nice UI and a good set of features. Easily could have been a favorite... But utterly useless for anything but json. It won't even send your message unless it's a proper json. Bummer.
Awesome! Amazing WS client. It really helps me. Thanks!
Best WebSocket Client!
