I came here only to say that adding JLPT Level filter to YT videos completely transformed my learning flow. I am around N4 level and eventhough the ratings are not perfect it looks like I can now make YT my primary source of "immersion" instead of fighting the algorithm, as I had to until now. Well done.
I was having trouble getting my own extension to work properly alongside NihongoTube, so I contacted the developer for help. Before I knew it, they were working with me and very soon managed to solve the problem I was having. I have to say, the customer service is excellent and I'm very happy. NihongoTube is an invaluable tool that will literally transform how you interact with the Japanese language on YouTube and beats having to set up a separate account. At the flip of a switch in the extension's popup, everything on the page suddenly becomes all things Japanese. And then all you have to do is start watching a few videos and start retraining the algorithm. It is also very useful having N1~N5 tags appear on each video too that can help you make your choices even more deliberate. It's just a very well implemented idea. YouTube needs to take note!

Works very well! Started with only a few videos, but once the YouTube algorithm caught up my entire feed is just japanese videos now. Definitely worth trying if you want to go to the next level in your Japanese fluency or just want genuine japanese content in the UK.
As someone whose trying to learn Japanese language, and enjoys listening to j-pop and Japanese lo-fi when concentrating, this app is great! It has helped me find new content that I wouldn't have found otherwise, and now I can hide english videos that would've taken me down the procrastination rabbit hole. Thank you NihongoTube!
