🗺️ Free Google Maps Timeline Export to Excel ❎
Export your trips and mileage from Google Maps Timeline to Excel for your mileage tax deduction. This Chrome extension enables generating mileage and time sheet reports / exports. None of your location data goes through a server. Everything is processed locally in your browser to ensure your privacy.
⚠️ Attention ⚠️
Your trips exported from Google Maps Timeline with any tool are not sufficient as an IRS-compliant mileage log - points out my sponsor, MileageWise. They on the other hand, are able to convert these exported trips into an IRS-Proof mileage log.
📢 Notice 📢
Google has recently relocated Timeline Location History data to local storage on mobile devices. Some Takeout files still contain the necessary data, but for others, the data is no longer included. Therefore the efficiency of this extension has been inconsistent.

I had the Timeline enable for about 6 months,, Nothing shows up in the dates at all. like I have to import the Json file? anyone know how?
Too bad it no longer works because it would have been the perfect tool for me. It is very simple tool to use (5 stars for simplicity and formats selection!). :) Unfortunately, when we enter the calendar dates (from previous years), it downloads no data. :( The Excel file shows all the columns titles but no data. We hope the developer can update this extension in the near future!
The extension didn't work but I followed what Mark recommended. I used MileageWise to process my mobile timeline files and it worked. Thanks Mark!
I had an experience similar to that of John Wighton who had trouble changing the date range and getting the appropriate data. I fiddled with it and eventually got 6 years of data out via one Excel workbook per year but couldn’t get the 2018 data. I know the data is there because Takeout could access it and provide the data in JSON format and MileageWise could extract the data for one month of 2018 from the JSON data. Because I could get more data out, I won’t give it as low a rating as John. I thank the developers for making this product available. I suppose that as Google removes the option of storing Timeline data in the cloud, that MileageWise will be the option getting data unless competitors arise.
This was fantastic until it was no longer available. I am based in South Africa and the company Milage Wise you are suggesting does not support outside US and Canada
Funktioniert aktuell perfekt.
This would be great if the formatting was adjustable, my CSV export has distances shown as [14.758 KM] which makes it unusable for calculations. if it would say [14,758] without added text this would be a huge game changer. So: great tool, but just not for me, unfortunately.
Didn't work for me.
I know google maps did some changes with being able to access your timeline on desktop. I believe that change has bricked this extension. Nothing shows up in my list at all, no matter the date range. Used to work wonderfully but hasn't the past few months :( Was 5 stars before it stopped working. If it starts working again, I'll gladly update the review
Einträge doppelt, Dauer wird nicht richtig berechnet
