Product summary

YCR-index helps you decide which scientific paper is worth reading and in what order, potentially boosting productivity. Wondering if that number of citations is few or many? This browser extension displays a compact view of essential metrics: Year, Citations, and Relative. It helps you determine whether a paper meets or exceeds typical citation performance in its field. Currently, YCR is calculated for the broad Biomedical domain.

The extension detects paper DOIs on web pages and shows the YCR-index badge in search results on Google Scholar, PubMed, and on each precalculated scientific article page. During its operation, it modifies certain web page elements to allow badge insertion. It is built on OpenAlex open data and an independent open data implementation of the RCR algorithm (DOI: 10.1371/journal.pbio.1002541). Grounded in scientometrics, this nonprofit initiative strives to provide a transparent, unbiased measure of scholarly influence for researchers worldwide.

Tried YCR-index for the first time today and I’m already seeing the benefits. The speed at which it processes and indexes is top-tier, and the interface is refreshingly minimal yet functional. I especially appreciate the accuracy of its search results—no more wasted time hunting through files.
