Language learners reading authentic web content in their target language need instant translations and a way to retain new vocabulary — this extension eliminates the friction of copying words to a dictionary and manually creating flashcards

1. User installs extension and visits a webpage in their target language. 2. Clicks the 'R' extension button to activate the Readlang Web Reader overlay. 3. Clicks on any word or drags across a phrase to get an instant translation popup. 4. Translated words are automatically saved and flashcards are created. 5. User can optionally right-click and select 'Import to Readlang' to send the page to readlang.com for a cleaner reading experience. 6. Vocabulary lists and flashcards are accessible on readlang.com (requires account for full sync).

For full functionality (unlimited words, syncing across devices, flashcards on readlang.com), login to readlang.com is required. Authentication is via Google Sign-In (line 6619-6644, `/api/auth/googleSignIn`). The background script makes authenticated fetch requests to readlang.com with cookies (line 123-133).
