Works perfectly, just need to add a toggle for the current speed display, or at least reduced opacity so it's not that eye catching. Another thing to notice is that the seek time does not change relative to the current speed. On YouTube if your seek time from arrow keys is, say 5 seconds, at 2x speed it seeks 10 seconds and at 0.5x it seeks 2.5 seconds of the video time. There is probably a different way to set the playbackRate that fixes this.
The best extension that Ive found for the simple purpose of controlling the speed of youtube videos, also the instant shortcut to set the speed to normal is very useful, one review complained about the speed being shown all the time, to me that is very useful. In short this extension has everything I wanted for me to watch tutorials at high speed, 0.25 increases and decreases, a speedometer, and shortcuts. 5/5 stars.
Simple and effective. For a minor improvement, consider making the speed-indicator overlay non-permanent (e.g. toggling its appearance along with other overlay controls).

Good. Help me freely adjust youtube speed while watching video
I thought I had found what I have been looking for for a long while, but unfortunately not. In the description, it says: "- Seek backward & forward works even the focus element is not on video player". This is what has great value, but does not work. Also, in assigning shortcut keys, I would suggest adding the possibility of using function keys (Ctrl, Alt and/or Shift)
Love it. Perfect shortcut for changing playback speed.
