Update: Chrome now has a built-in feature ("Copy Link to Highlight" in the context menu) to copy text fragment links. The extension has an additional feature that allows you to also copy rich links. You can activate this feature in the options.
This extension allows for easily creating a special link to the currently selected text on a page via the context menu. When opening such a special link, a compatible browser will scroll the selected text into view and highlight it.
Usage instructions:
• Select the text that you want to link to.
• Right-click and choose "Copy Link to Selected Text" from the context menu.
• If the link creation succeeded, the selected text will be briefly highlighted in yellow.

Works just fine. Go here to set a shortcut for the extension to create the URL with Brave too. brave://extensions/shortcuts Would be cool if it allowed for settings allowing you to use "start" and "end" phrases for longer text instead of a super long URL. (You define how many words to use for the "start" and "end" text.) I take it back. It already does this. It's just that *it* decides when a long URL is too long. Would be nice to have some manual control of this. Otherwise, this is a great extension.
Been using this for years, but since very recently it has stopped working for me.
Good app
There's a Brave github issue on text fragments. Apparently, this works on Brave nightly, and the change will come to stable release Brave on 29 April 2025. Literally the bad reviews are not even the extensions fault, since all this does is create the link. but also not necessary anymore (brave) because brave has it's own feature

Расширение полностью выполняет свой функционал по копированию ссылки на выделенный текст. А флаг "chrome://flags/#copy-link-to-text" доступен не во всех браузерах основанных на Chromium.
muito boa, tanto que foi integrada no Chrome não sendo necessário mais instalar.
I can't recognize the problems others are having, the extension works just fine for me. And I don't know how I lived without it, it's so useful when you want to give the most direct link possible on a page without link anchors.
Can this be fixed so it actually works? I want to use it on Brave browser which other Brave users said it worked at one time
