One of the most frustrating parts of working across AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini is losing the thread of a long-running project. I often work across several ongoing tasks at once, and once a conversation becomes too long, starting a new chat usually means rebuilding the same background, decisions, and working context from the beginning. That repetition can consume a surprising amount of the available context window before any new work has even started. In practice, I found myself spending too much time re-explaining project details or searching through older conversations for a specific instruction or decision. 5BY feels more useful than a simple Chrome extension for saving AI chats. It helps preserve the parts of a conversation that actually matter: project discussions, important instructions, key decisions, recurring prompts, and ideas worth revisiting later. What I found most helpful was being able to save selected information rather than keeping entire conversation transcripts. For long-running projects, retaining a few important decisions and pieces of context is often far more useful than scrolling through hundreds of old messages. I think it could be especially valuable for people who use AI tools for development planning, documentation, content creation, research, or project management. For anyone who regularly switches between different AI services or manages multiple projects at the same time, 5BY offers a more structured way to keep important context from getting lost. It is still an early product, but the core idea is strong. With continued improvements in stability, context retrieval, and project organization, I can see it becoming a genuinely useful part of my daily AI workflow.
