Product summary

Transfiguration Chapbook is an experimental digital poetry collection within a desktop browser extension. At the click of a button, a randomly selected poem from the collection composes itself letter-by-letter inside the browser window by extracting and repurposing the existing text of any given webpage into a discordant, yet surprisingly legible assemblage reminiscent of a ransom-note. Shrouded in halos of static noise, these recombinant verses float above the page from which they were ripped, obscuring its original semantic content and transforming it into a matrix for poetic expression.

The inaugural edition of Transfiguration Chapbook features poetry by multidisciplinary artist Kara Güt. Primarily focused in image-based, digital media, Güt's work investigates the shape of human intimacy formed by internet lifestyle, constructed detachment from reality, and the power dynamics of the virtual. She is the author of Welcome to My Desert Nexus (Bulk Space, 2022), RPG Gothic (New Archive, 2019), and Crystal Magic Weapon (2017).
