Use Charcoal to experience Messenger (messenger.com) in dark mode. Toggling dark mode with any theme is easy: click on the Messenger icon on the top left of the web page, and set your preference.
Features:
Messenger icon toggle on the top left of the web page to access preferences.
Choose between 3 themes: Charcoal, Midnight, and Deep Blue.
Change dark or light appearance whenever you want, or set dark mode based on your device's setting.

It worked at first but then it stopped working :(
hello i cant seem to find the messenger icon on the top left but even if i imagined it i think it will be good my real question is is this compatible with Windows 7 (i know its old)

Doesn't work after Messenger updates its website
I've been using this extension for a while and I love it. It should be built into messenger natively. I would also like to report that an update to messenger broke this extension for me last night. However I still give it a 5-Star rating because it's not the developer's fault that a messenger update broke it - and I believe that the developer will have it working again soon. I just wanted to inform anyone who is considering this extension to not be discouraged that it is temporarily broken. Come back in a few days and check it again.

Was ok, but now it's not working! 21.11.2020!!
Was great - 5/5 stars... - unfortunately an update to messenger has meant it no longer works :( Hopefully the extension can be updated also!
It's working but the problem is.. it's not working on the new messenger. this extension works only on classic messenger
