This extension replaces Chrome's New Tab page with a minimalist version which shows a blank white page and an imitation of the Bookmarks Bar. To recover the default New Tab page, simply remove the extension.

Worked fine until (noticed on) 8/11/17. Please update or let me know how to fix.

This worked great until recently. Now it has no effect, and the "recent webpages" thumbnails appear again on new tabs. Is a fix on the horizon?
Does not work with Country Redirect. Works only in US.
3 stars because it works fine, but... The permissions are suspect. "Read and change all your data on the websites you visit"!?! For a blank page? I don't understand. Adam Schwartz also makes "Empty New Tab Page" extension that is without these odd permissions.
It's a shame that this extension exists in a way, but now that Google is forcing us to look at whatever junk they want us to see, what other choice is there.. 4* because it is so bland, otherwise, great, it works for now.
Just what I wanted. Thank you. Was using "New Tab Redirect" to make my New Tab page into about:blank, but this extension works even better.
It works but the RAM usage is high when open a new tab, I don't know why. And I think I need to develop the habit that using Alt+Enter to open the new tab so that I don't need to use any new tab extension. For apps using, just click the bookmark to launcher them. Maybe this is the only way to simplicity.
