UPDATE: Since when does this extension use Ctrl+i as a shortcut? That's a terrible idea!! 😂 I'm deactivating it now, hopefully this gets fixed soon! ---------------------------------- I use this addon to download images from Pinterest boards. The addon isn't perfectly suited for that, but it gets the job done. More information on this below: EDIT: I noticed that my approach does not always leave the file with the biggest image size, but it does most of the time. If you want to make sure to always keep the larger file, you will need a different solution. The addon will download the original format as well as all preview formats of each pin of the Pinterest board. To make the addon find all pins, you will need to zoom out of the Pinterest board as far as possible to ensure that all pins are loaded.If you then click the addon button, it will list a significantly higher number of found images than the number of pins within the board - this is because of the preview versions of some images. Apparently a pin can have up to 3 preview image versions. Luckily - most of the time - the preview versions will be downloaded after the original versions and they have the same file name, therefore Windows will add "(1)", "(2)" or "(3)" to their file names. Thus it's manageable to delete (almost) all preview versions using the Windows Explorer search function: 1) put all files you just downloaded in a new folder 2) inside the new folder use the Windows Explorer search function to search for "(1)" - include the quotation marks, otherwise Windows Explorer will list more than just exact matches 3) delete all files listed by this search 4) repeat the last two steps with searches for "(2)" and "(3)" With this approach all preview versions can be quickly sorted out, EXCEPT for preview images of different file formats than JPGs. Therefore preview images of PNGs, GIFs and WEBP (and maybe more) will remain besides their original file. I didn't come up with a workflow to sort out these preview images as well, so if you happen to know an easy approach other than deleting them manually one by one, I'd be happy to hear about it : ) Have fun saving your favorite Pinterest boards! ✨
