It doesn't block ads. Unless you believe that replacing an ad with a black screen until it clicks the "skip ad" button is the same as preventing the ad to begin with.

It looks like it basically skips the ads by simply replacing the ad with a black screen. But you still have to wait until this ad goes similary to when you normally click "skip ad" after 3-4 seconds.
