This extension was made by MrQuackDuck, not me (Aljo). The reason it's under my name is because I bought a chrome developer account, and offered to publish the extension while giving full credit to the original developer.
After a recent update, YouTube is now having an issue with pressing Spacebar to play/pause the video after Alt+Tab and in cases when you're unfocused from the videoplayer. This browser extension is here to fix this.

Automatically pause YouTube videos in new tabs.
Pauses all videos in all tabs
Helping you continue to interact with youtube while it thinks you are away
Fixes YouTube's inconsistent player controls. Right and left always navigate. Up and down always volume control.
Seek, control volume, speed, and more with mouse and keyboard. Adjust player controls, progress bar, UI elements, process audio...
Control consistency for arrow and space users.
Worked really well but stopped working a few days ago for me, hope it gets fixed soon, such a tiny change can make such a huge difference
perfevt
gorgeous
No more frustrated hammering of the spacebar — it now pauses most of the time. I'll change to 5 stars if it can also be made to pause instead of mute when the volume is in focus.
Works perfectly.
Works great, except for one thing. The alt tab pause function is fine, but I've noticed that if pressing the frame by frame buttons on Youtube, specifically back, it skips forward a few frames after pausing.
Works for the goal, but has one issue - it also "works" on youtube music, where it instead breaks pausing when you alt tab to the page. Simply changing the domain it applies to to be just www.youtube instead of *.youtube would probably fix this, so I hope that gets fixed soon.
TY!!!!!!
Works. Thanks!
works, thank you.
