I love this extension. I am a power user of Perplexity and its almost replaced my google search usage. The plugin works fine on Windows and Mac. But for some reason, it does not show up as the default search option for Chrome on my Linux desktop dev machine. Now, if thats fixed...its going to be 5 stars all around!!
Love using perplexity and like being able to directly use it as my search engine, but it forces your new tab page and home page to be perplexity.ai and you cannot change it while using the extension. Unfortunately until that is removed or is an optional feature I can't recommend this to anyone.
The extension forces you to use Perplexity for search queries in the address bar with no option to select another search engine. It changes the startup page to Perplexity. I understand why they do this, to take traffic away from Google for all queries, but this power grab without giving the option to the user is a deal breaker. The answers frequent incorrect info too, so relying solely on Perplexity for search is not an option.

Au top du top. J'ai toujours les réponses très détaillées à mes demandes sur absolument tout et très rapidement. Fini la navigation de site en site où on finit par s'y perdre. Je ne peux plus m'en passer. Un grand merci Perplexity !

Functions as documented, but unfortunately having a full AI analysis of every trivial search is a bit of an overkill. I'll stick with $FAVORITE for now and create a custom "pp" search for when I need the full power of Perplexity AI.
I'm going to keep it for now in the hope that they remove the forced homepage setting, as I'd like to set my own home page. If they change the behaviour I'm improve the number of stars. If not, I'll remove the extension.
My favourite AI, having it as my search engine provides more accurate and diverse answers, would rate 6/5 if I could.
