Works Perfectly. Both ads are muted consistently and volume restoration is completely smooth. This is exactly what I was looking for.

Updated Review July 1st: This Extension works very well, it consistently mutes ad's on YouTube. The issues I had previously where the extension wouldn't mute the second ad in a set seems to be resolved. I am very glad that this extension exists and would happily recommended it to anyone looking for an alternative to ad blockers. Old Review from June 18th: This extension is exactly what I was looking for, although it does have issues. As others have pointed out it doesn't mute ads consistently, when it does it doesn't follow through with keeping the second ad muted if there is one. I do appreciate that this exists and am looking forward to a time when the consistency issue is sorted, 3 stars till then.

2025-10-21 Now only mutes about 1 out of 3 ads, so more often it fails then works :( Still 2 stars because occasionally it does mute them. 2025-06-10 Extension consistently mutes the first pre-roll ad. It does not mute the second pre-roll if you get the double 5-second ads or something. It also doesn't consistently mute the post-roll ad, I am not sure under what conditions it works or fails.

2025/07/06(最新): YouTubeの動画再生中に挿入される広告の音をミュートにするシンプルな拡張機能です。 以前は広告が二連続で再生されると機能しなくなる不具合があったのですが、これが解決されました（余談ですが、こういった不具合は英語でも書くべきですね……そうすればもっと早く開発者さんの目に留まったはずですし）。 それと、これは YouTube Auto Volume Changer の代替品を探している人向けの話なのですが、 YouTube AdQuiet はあちらと違い"広告の音量を小さくする"機能はありません。あくまでミュートにするのみなのでそれについてはご留意ください。 2025/04/30: 現在のYouTubeでは広告が二連続で再生されることが多いのですが、この拡張機能はそれに対応できていないようです。 二連続で広告が再生されると、最初の広告の方はミュートになるのですが、二つ目の広告はミュートになりません。 この点についてはいずれ対応してくださるかもしれませんが、少なくとも今はまだ実用的ではないと感じています。 広告系の拡張機能は広告ブロック、広告高速再生、広告スキップボタン自動押下など様々な種類のものがありますが、いずれもYouTubeに検出されて動画再生を停止されることがよくあります。 その一方、広告音をミュートにする機能しか持たなかった YouTube Auto Volume Changer (現在サポート終了中)という拡張機能は一度もYouTubeに検出されませんでした。 YouTube AdQuiet も同様に検出されずに使い続けられると思うので、その点についても期待が持てます。
