The Volume Booster extension is a tool designed to enhance the audio output of supported media players. Whether you're watching videos or listening to music, this extension aims to elevate your audio experience by boosting the volume level beyond the standard limitations with greater clarity and impact.

The extension installs a "2x" button next to the settings button of the YouTube player. It is disabled by default. If the user clicks the button once, the audio gain node is installed on the source node, causing the audio volume to increase level twice (200%; similar to VLC player). You can click the button once more to deactivate the boosting.

Note:

The compatibility of this extension with your audio equalizer extension may vary. Its compatibility is dependent on the method used by the equalizer to perform audio filtering, whether it is applied directly to the player (not compatible) or to the page itself (compatible).

This extension supports volume boosting with keyboard shortcuts. Read the FAQs page for more info

As a media designer, I occasionally work up to 15 hours at the computer as a freelancer from home. My preferred headphones are the Sony WH-1000XM4, which deliver perfect sound and provide all the necessary features. They are more than sufficient for my needs. However, after 7-8 hours, I notice that they become uncomfortable on my head and my ears start to hurt. That's why I sometimes switch to in-ear headphones. The sound quality is also good, but they have been quieter compared to my regular headphones. To listen to YouTube videos loud enough, I often had to adjust the volume using an equalizer. Now, a simple press of a button (X2) is enough, and all my problems are solved. At this point, I would like to sincerely thank those responsible. This innovation is not just an enhancement but downright indispensable. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would do it without hesitation. Every aspect is perfect – thank you very much!

really halpful, but can't enable 2x button by shortcuts when I try to edit shortcuts in Chrome browser, if developer can add this we can avoid click every time by mouse, thanks developer, I'm give 5 star to this extension.
