The manifest grants very broad host_permissions (http://*/*, https://*/*) and requests powerful runtime permissions such as webRequest, scripting, contextMenus, tabs, storage, and unlimitedStorage, enabling the extension to read pages, inject scripts, and potentially observe or modify requests. These broad permissions combined with webRequest and a stored key/update_url present the highest privacy risk points: the extension has the capability to collect and forward page contents or intercept traffic; whether it does depends on background code (which is minified in this package). The presence of pdf.worker.js and a WASM hash module points to on-device PDF parsing and hashing, which can be used for summarizing file content locally (good) or computing fingerprints (privacy risk if uploaded). To become privacy-respectful, changes should remove wide host permissions, avoid webRequest, shift to activeTab and optional permissions, and require explicit user-provided API keys when remote models are used.
