Mendeley Web Importer detects article identifiers on the page you are viewing and automatically retrieves metadata and PDF full texts (where available) for you to add to your library. You just need to be viewing an article or a list of references in the browser and click on the Mendeley Web Importer extension icon in the toolbar.
You'll need a Mendeley account to save, read and cite the articles you import. To sign up and receive 2GB free storage space, visit https://www.mendeley.com

No longer imports the PDF, when available, and causes Chrome to display the "aw snap" page crash. Happens for any reference from any publisher or pubmed. The reference does import into Mendeley itself though. Doesn't seem to show up under "recently added" but can be found in the correct group/folder.
The Chrome extension is not responding. I uninstalled and installed it again.

Frequently does nothing
I have been a long time Mendeley user, and this new importer extension is terrible. It won't even let me log in when opened. This is despite me being logged in to both my desktop and web account at the same time. Tried on several different sites and PDFs, but nothing. If this isn't fixed quickly, I'm going to have to switch to my backup EndNote library...
Installed, logged into everything - chrome + Mendeley (web, even have my desktop version open). I tested ref on 5 diff sites - 3 of which were random google scholar articles the FAO (http://www.fao.org/soils-portal/soil-survey/soil-properties/chemical-properties/en/) the chrome app didn't even open. I tried the old school web importer button (Mendely), and that doesn't recognize any site content.
Even though I sign in before trying to use the extension, it always crashes the page when I try to import an article.
