Best app literally ever. Been using this for like 10 years, or whenever it released. Does exactly as promised. I have like 10,000 emails, and I'm logged into like 6 gmail accounts, and I have never ever missed an email. I only use this for my primary email. My Samsung phone takes like 2 hours to push me gmail notifications, but this desktop extension for Chrome literally notifies me in like 1-2 seconds from an email being received. It's insane. I couldn't live without it. I've also tried a bunch of other gmail Chrome extensions. This is by far the best one and most customizable. You can even manage notifications for multiple gmail accounts (6+), or you can disable notifications for certain accounts, or only be notified on primary account. Notifications for Multiple Gmail Accounts: If you are signed into multiple gmail accounts, and you want the extension to manage only 1 of those gmail accounts (and not show the combined total unread emails from both gmails) then here is what you do: 1. Under the label: "Primary account (/mail/u/0/)" type "inbox" into the field. 2. You're done. Explanation: If you don't type "inbox" into the field, then the extension will combine unread email numbers from ALL logged in accounts by default.

Myriad of issues with this extension. Doesn't always mark as unread and often takes a few seconds to register when it does, counter tends to be inaccurate, previously marked as read emails randomly come back to life, etc. Just doesn't work well for me.

This extension has been a life saver for me! My university's gsuite email usually doesn't sync well with any client but I needed notifications real bad because it is the only way to get important announcements. Default Gmail notification has been a hit or miss but this one works great even if I don't have mail.google.com open! Kudos to the Developer.
