uBlock Origin ตัวบล็อคโฆษณายอดนิยม ประกาศเตือนให้ผู้ใช้บน Chrome ย้ายไปใช้ส่วนขยายอีกตัวคือ uBlock Origin Lite แทน หลัง Chrome เริ่มแจ้งเตือนว่า uBlock Origin จะใช้งานไม่ได้อีกต่อไป (เริ่มใน Chrome 127) เหตุผลมาจากนโยบายของ Chrome ที่เริ่มเปลี่ยน API ของส่วนขยายจาก Manifest V2 มาเป็น Manifest V3 ทำให้ผู้ใช้ส่วนขยาย uBlock Origin ตัวต้นฉบับ (รวมถึงส่วนขยายตัวอื่นๆ) ที่เขียนมาแบบ V2 ได้รับการแจ้งเตือนในเบราว์เซอร์แล้ว ผู้ใช้ที่ไม่ได้ติดตามประเด็นเรื่อง Manifest อาจตกใจได้ uBlock Origin Lite ถูกเขียนขึ้นแบบ Manifest V3 เปลี่ยนมาใช้การกรองเนื้อหาบนหน้าเว็บผ่านตัวเบราว์เซอร์ (V2 ทำโดยตัวส่วนขยาย) ผลคือประหยัดทรัพยากรซีพียู-แรมมากขึ้น การันตีเรื่องความเป็นส่วนตัวมากขึ้น (เพราะส่วนขยายเข้าไม่ถึงเนื้อหาหน้าเว็บทั้งหมดโดยตรง) แต่ก็ต้องแลกมาด้วยฟีเจอร์บางอย่างของ uBlock Origin ตัวต้นฉบับที่หายไป เพราะกูเกิลไม่อนุญาตให้ทำแล้ว (เอกสารเปรียบเทียบ 2 เวอร์ชัน) ทีมพัฒนาบอกว่า uBlock Origin ตัวต้นฉบับ กับ uBlock Origin Lite มีความแตกต่างกันมากจนกลายเป็นส่วนขยายคนละตัวกันไปแล้ว ผู้ใช้เดิมจึงต้องติดตั้ง uBlock Origin Lite เพิ่มเองจาก Chrome Web Store ไม่สามารถอัพเกรดตรงๆ ได้ ส่วนขยาย uBlock Origin ตัวต้นฉบับจะยังพัฒนาต่อไป เพราะยังมีเบราว์เซอร์ตัวอื่นๆ ที่ประกาศรองรับ Manifest V2 ต่อไป เช่น Firefox ที่จะรองรับทั้ง V2/V3 source https://www.blognone.com/node/141238

Short review: Good Manifest V3 alternative for the original. Longer review: Manifest V2, which the original UBlock Origin requires, is getting retired soon. In other words, UBO won't work fairly soon. It's a shame, but it's what's going to happen. This, made by the same person, is a Manifest V3-compliant alternative. uBlock Origin Lite isn't as good as the original, by any measure. It offers fewer options, including my favorites of Element Picker/Zapper and disabling Javascript, both of which work well on paywalls. But it's okay. It works out of the box, and blocks about as many ads as the old one. I tried visiting a few websites with ads (Bored Panda, TV Tropes, an obscure forum I visited once called Imamother, Quora, and Reddit). The original uBO worked on all of those but Imamother. So does this one. (Imamother's ads aren't very annoying, so I'm cool with it.) Maybe the developer will add in new features from the old UBO, maybe not, but most users who don't like digging into things will be satisfied with it. It blocks ads well, just like the original. Customization is still possible, although to a lesser degree. It's not horrible and it's almost certainly better than the other MV3 options out there, but if Chrome decides not to retire MV2, I'm going back to the old uBO.

Отсутствуют гибкие пользовательские фильтры как в Ublock Origin. Например, нельзя точечно заблокировать скрипты на странице, чтобы не вылезали дурацкие требования зарегистрироваться, чтобы прочитать контент. А тут еще Google грозится отключить Ublock Origin из-за мнимого "несоответствия правилам". Вывод: Google неинтересны качественные блокировщики рекламы. Нужно отключать / запрещать обновление Chrome и продолжать пользоваться привычными и удобными расширениями.

3.08. funktioniert auch nach dem neuen YT Update in dem YT die Werbung ins Video selbst einbettet. 6.08. funktioniert leider nicht mehr :/
