Without it, life wouldn't be the same no more. I mean it. Given how extensively I'm in the web and on certain websites and their bastardised UIs, which thanks to TM both still look and work pretty much the same for me for ages, without Tampermonkey, the web would have become an unusable nightmare for me, as it is for many of the youngsters who nonetheless still keep using it with all its muck that comes with it, since they don't know any better. Poor lads. It does require a certain level of skill and knowledge in script installing, though, not gonna lie. But that's a tick in the plus column to me, as I’ve had absolutely had enough of all the automation, the shoving around, the nudging and patronising hand-holding that are the order of the day in software engineering these days, simply because average Joe and Jane have become utterly dependent and helpless if they aren’t led by the leash through this circus ring that their lives must surely feel like. Sick. And. Tired. Of. It. All. Some of them have also shown up here to leave their 1-star “reviews” based on their own illiteracy. The Dunning-Kruger effect says hi. Do not listen to them. That's a clear case of PICNIC: problem in chair, not in computer. I can falsify their arguments any time, eyes shut, backwards and in high heels! Therefore, I sincerely wish TM still remains the way it is and leaves the control to its users and doesn't even try to cater to everyone, particularly those who aren't willing to learn anyway and to become independent users who want to reach the age of discretion also in terms of the World Wide Web. I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is to try to please everyone. Have a look around at how it all goes to shambles when they try. But I digress. Tampermonkey and all its nifty, genius script authors on GitHub and elsewhere deserve a Human Rights Award for all the work they have been doing to fight back some of the worst consecutive symptoms of the web, providing more security while simultaneously helping protect yer privacy. Shall I say it again? Without it, life wouldn't be the same anymore.
