High Contrast lets you browse the web with your choice of several high-contrast color filters designed to make it easier to read text.
When you install this extension, all pages are "inverted", so black becomes white and white becomes black. Press the "browser action" icon in the toolbar to toggle it on and off, or customize your settings on a per-site basis. Use a convenient keyboard shortcut to quickly change your settings while your browse.
Other extensions try to change the default colors, but this ends up breaking many popular websites. Only this extension applies filters to your page that invert almost everything - the only exception is photos, which are left alone.
Also note that the Chrome web store and other built-in pages like the New Tab page and Settings pages are unaffected - extensions like this one are not allowed to modify them, by design.

I am in support and stare at my screens all day, so I was happy to find something to ease the strain on my eyes and I love the ability to toggle views easily; however, when I have to print something from a webpage, the text is blurry. This is true whether I am set to increased contrast or normal. If I completely disable the extension, printing returns to normal. I have also noticed a bit of slowness when opening the toggle interface or new tabs. I still like it and it does what I expect, but I can't use it consistently due to these issues. Hoping a resolution is on the way...
It's a very good extension with a few problems: * Inverted mode isn't very legible. * Drastically makes the browser sluggish (switching tabs, clicking and typing, etc). * Videos will also be so slow you'll wonder if something's up with your internet... until you remember to disable the extension. (Setting it to normal is not enough) All in all I still like this, I use the Increased Contrast mode because I have poor vision.
Poor, it has artifacts when setting opposite colours, when I was editting a document in google drive. Did not work, I kick this out of my google chrome
Saved my eyes
Very useful. Made by Google so I didn't give other extensions a chance, I will eventually but for now this will do. Only problem is lately screen flickers or stays black until I disable it. Wish BYM (Firefox add-on) could be on Chrome
Works well on some pages but causes havic on others. Gives weird characters in Outlook web mail.
It didn't help, the website page went completely white and blank, had to disable it. Unfortunately it means I can't do the work I need to do on certain sites, so I'll just have to find something else.
Perfect! exactly what I was after, I can set this to grayscale and safely browse the net at the office

Causes many flickers and rendering issues. Notably, the smooth edges of text appears to not get inverted, causing the text to be very hard to read. The latter isn't an issue when I use OS X's built in color inversion setting.
