High Contrast lets you browse the web with your choice of several high-contrast color filters designed to make it easier to read text.
When you install this extension, all pages are "inverted", so black becomes white and white becomes black. Press the "browser action" icon in the toolbar to toggle it on and off, or customize your settings on a per-site basis. Use a convenient keyboard shortcut to quickly change your settings while your browse.
Other extensions try to change the default colors, but this ends up breaking many popular websites. Only this extension applies filters to your page that invert almost everything - the only exception is photos, which are left alone.
Also note that the Chrome web store and other built-in pages like the New Tab page and Settings pages are unaffected - extensions like this one are not allowed to modify them, by design.

I would like also the option of simple white text on black background.
Useful, but caused icons to appear duplicated all over my screen in Google Drive, making my Drive unusable. Because of that, I had to disable the extension.
Good for some sites, bad for others. Messes up Google Calendar - I can't see the date headers or All Day events until I disable this extension. The Developer's Website link given here doesn't actually say anything about this extension. Is it still supported?
On invert mode this extension makes images completely washed out. It actually does not invert them, which is a good thing, but it makes them impossible to interpret.

Google drive explodes when it's enabled. Would be nice if you could just invert the non-image elements of the page.
When you set this to the normal color scheme, it messes up editing in google drive, other than that, this is really great
Greetings: I had been using HackerVision but it was leaving too much "white" on the screen, so I tried this HIGH CONTRAST extension set for INVERT COLOR. 1.Too many instances of photos having color inverted. 2. I use Zap2It for DAILY TV program listings, but the blue-ish "NEW" episode attribute turns WHITE rather than the OPANGE color provided by HackerVision. SO I am switching back. P.S. I used the website link but reached ColorVOX with no mention of the fact it may have been used to create the HIGH CONTRAST chrome extension. I like the fact it inverts the MENU bar and TABs.
It was working just fine up to now but for some reason certain youtube videos become inverted. this needs to be fixed
