Ever needed to quickly switch between user-agent strings on the fly? Developing a site that needs to work on both mobile browsers and desktop browsers? Sick of some archaic site blocking you because you're not using Netscape 4?
The User-Agent Switcher for Chrome is the answer. With this extension, you can quickly and easily switch between user-agent strings. Also, you can set up specific URLs that you want to spoof every time.
Please note that this does not provide improved privacy while browsing the Internet and that some sites might have other means to figure out that the browser is not what it pretends to be. Running this extension can have performance impact on your browsing experience due to its need to intercept and modify the data communicated to the server.
NOTE: if some sites have problems after using a mobile user-agent, and won't switch back no matter what you spoof, you will need to switch the user-agent back to Chrome *and* clear your cookies for the sites to treat the browser normally again.

Does not work. 05/2013. Latest Chrome.
I noticed it used about 60 megs of private memory in Chrome chrome://memory-redirect/ That's way too much for an extension like this.
great, love it... but the ios ver are too old... ipad running ios 3.2 and iphone running ios 4.3.2 and the wp running wp7.5 @.@
Only way I can watch Netflix in Chrome on Windows 8. Now I can still use Hola! and get American Netflix. I just tell the extension to spoof that one site and I can forget about it.
Doesn't work right. It should basically do the same thing as using the built in overide but it doesn't seem it does. For example, on Linux when using the dev tools overide (using a win canary UA) I can see the new packaged apps in the chrome store. With this extension, using the same UA, I cannot.

Very useful in web development. Would be great if it was possible to specify a centralized (hosted) XML file to keep everyone with the same user-agent lists in a corporate environment and have it to auto-update periodically. An "Edit" button on a user-agent entry would also be appreciated. Right now, you have to delete and recreate an entry to update some details, which is counter-productive.
I've used this for over a year for web development and it's always worked perfectly without any of the errors other people have mentioned. I would love if the UA string could be switched per-tab instead of for the whole browser, but I'm not sure if that's even possible. Either way, it'll spoof your string if you need it.

Works perfectly. Wish I could switch the reported screen size too but I think that may be reported by the OS.
