I feel like most of the people who say "It just does ______" did not go play with the setting. And yes, as someone who does dark/inverted colors for eye issues, there are just going to be some web pages that don't play well. I recommend you go play around with the settings and find one that works for a majority of your most used sites. I would recommend that the makers of the extension work out a Custom Dark Style for Google Calendar. They seemed to have gotten every other google application, it seemed odd to have missed just that one. It also a giant white mess in need of help.

It works well on many sites. Some sites remain as a white background, but those are usually Chrome-specific ones such as the New tab and Chrome web store. This properly sets the background dark on the major sites.

It works on some but not all sites and only on a portion of the page it's applied to. The whitelisting and blacklist feature is finicky as well and needs work
