This extension automatically tells Chrome that every tab you open is "not auto discardable". This might help solve issues where Chrome kills more tabs than you would want to, however, this is not foolproof, and tabs might still get discarded if your system is out of memory.
No configuration needed, the extension will mark every open tab as "not auto discardable" as long as you installed the extension and haven't disabled it.
Want to make sure this extension is working? Go to chrome://discards in a new tab and see how every row has a cross in the "auto discardable" column.

This extension seems to work. However, the extension is very badly named and has a poor ICON. The ICON has a slash through it......this slash tends to show that an extension is inactive. The next problem is that when you hover over the icon it tells you "automatic tab discarding is currently disabled" .............this message infers that the actual EXTENSION named "automatic tab discarding" is not doing anything at all (disabled) It's VERY badly named and described. You should NAME the extension something like.........TAB RETAINER. When you hover over the ICON the message should be............. ...... "Tab retainer is enabled & your tabs are not discarded"........... You should also change the ICON to a better ICON But thanks for your free efforts. Thx V
There are a lot of good reviews for this extension, but it doesn't work for me. My tabs still reload when I switch, even if it's just between two tabs.

This extension is very very bad. It says that it will stop the reloading tabs on my chromebook, but it doesn't work and still makes the tabs reload. The extension is very bad and I suggest you not download it. It there is a way to stop the reloading tabs, please tell me how.
Omg, this is the best tool ever. I used to be able to listen to youtube while doing my work, but the automatic refreshing wouldn't let me.
De verdad super útil, desde que descargue esta extensión ya no se recargan las paginas.
Actually doesn't work at all. Installed it, reloaded Chrome, tabs still reload every time i click on them. No change. A very thankful and happy edit: It DOES WORK! Unfortunately, it also has to be coupled with disabling the tab freezing in flags for it to work properly. Do that, and you're golden.
