It causes the background behind the page to invert from dark to bright. Unless you expand the page to the width of your display, you'll still see a lot of light. At least it works.

it instantly darks offline pdf file opened in chrome.

able to do things that even Adobe can't! dark mode works perfectly even for pdf with image background (which Adobe cant). works on websites too such as news websites. Thank you.

Works great, and super helpful since every "darkmode everything" extension I've ever used doesn't work on PDFs. I've only had 2 minors issue The first is that the "soft dark" theme makes the scroll bar the same color as the track, so you can't see it until you hover over it. Second, the extension doesn't automatically activate when you open a new PDF so you do have to turn it on automatically for each PDF, but that only takes a click. But overall this is a super helpful extension and has saved my eyes while studying.
