The new update was clearly a lot of work, and that's appreciated, especially the dark theme. ABSOLUTELY needs configuration options like an URL exclusion list for tracking session changes (otherwise tabs with URL activity without user interaction will make 500 session history only last 21 days), the option or other ability to search history sessions, understanding of saved session extension URL query string links, and the option to bring back single click close X instead of multi-select.

Es una de las extensiones imprescindibles y más útiles durante todos los años que vengo utilizándola. Quiero dar las gracias de veras al desarrollador por esta maravilla, y de hecho acabo de hacer una merecida donación, que no sé porqué se me había demorado hacer, ya que me sentía en deuda por lo que me aporta Session Buddy. Respecto a la actualización, que veo algún comentario un poco duro, solo decir que en mi caso ha ido como la seda y veo novedades que por si había poco ya lo suben a otro nivel increíble. Supongo que como todos los cambios y evoluciones puede hacer falta un poco de paciencia al principio, pero vale la pena con creces.

Session Buddy has been an absolutely essential Chrome extension for me over the years. I truly want to extend my sincerest thanks to the developer for creating such a fantastic tool. I've just made a well-deserved donation through another one of my profiles, which I regret not doing sooner. The value that Session Buddy brings to my daily workflow made me feel indebted. As for the recent update, I've noticed some harsh feedback, but from my experience, the transition has been smooth, and the new features elevate the tool to an even more impressive level. Adapting to changes and updates might require a bit of patience at first, but it's thoroughly worth it.

War gut, nach dem letzten Update leider gar nicht mehr. Hat sehr stark an Usability verloren und zum Beispiel die Funktion "overwrite with current" ist jetzt ganz weg. Einzelne Tabs manuell aus einer Session zu löschen ging vorher mit einem Klick, jetzt gar nicht mehr. Stattdessen muss man die ganze Session öffnen, die ungewünschten Tabs schließen, das als neue Session speichern und die alte löschen. Viel dämlicher hätte man das echt nicht umsetzen können. Edit: Nach dem nächsten Update (das schnell kam) waren alle Probleme wieder behoben. Ein paar Sachen sind immer noch etwas umständlicher, dafür sind andere jetzt besser. So kann man das wieder empfehlen.

I use Session Buddy as a multi discipline project manager. I organize my sub projects by window. I typically have dozens of windows open with 10-20 tabs open in each, accumulated across a month. I save specific named sessions by the top topics I have open among the many themes I've going in the sessions. 1. Search is no longer feasible. With a full 27" 4k screen and hundreds of potential matches (think searching for "amazon" to find all products I've looked up over the last 3 years for just the one a customer wanted), you're wisdom decided I should be restricted to a 5 item window! The old brought up only the sessions that had a match, showing the title and link, allowing quick checking if it was the one I wanted. Filtering was VERY useful. The new...does nothing useful. The old was brilliant; the new reduces your product to a curiosity, a toy. 2. Project management is no longer feasible, with the limits to the number (500) of sessions you keep. Auto saving session open tab data has been very very useful, something nice to rely on in rebooting a system with a lot of work up, and sometimes critical after an unplanned forced reboot. 4. If I turn on history to capture a setting every 5 minutes, are you going to start throwing away my saved sessions when the total session count reaches 500? That is EXTREMELY detrimental! What is your reason for 500 only sessions? Your settings information says "the number of snapshots is limited by the available storage." This is FALSE! I have 1 TB, not 500 little sessions. Why are you limiting my usefulness??? 5. the left navigation pane I use long titles of the sessions/collections with a max of around 10 keywords in the title, appended with a date, so I can search all these ways. Think a project needs 20 new tools, so search and individual product pages for each of those 20 tools with reviews etc. over many days. I want to save the information as I accumulate it, before moving on to the next task of something just like that, both of which I will come back to many times over the course of a few weeks, before and after decisions are made. I don't know in advance which pages are obsolete until a couple of months after. So I tag the collection with the major keywords I need from the windows I've got, and a date. But on the left navigation pane is fixed width. You TOOK AWAY THE RIGHT TO MAKE THE COLUMN THE WIDTH I NEED TO SEE THE NAME AND DATE! Rooky mistake, rooky conception of a productivity tool! It truncates the text I typed into the collection name. Even hovering doesn't show it. Also the collection name dialog box needs to be MUCH wider. Why limit the user??? It doesn't cost you anything! Use the full screen capabilities the user has paid for! 6. Overwrite with current NEEDS to come BACK! As others have said, thanks for without permission, removing all MY DATA for the last 4 years. 7. I say PUT OUR DATA BACK THE WAY IT WAS! What gives with taking an advanced product and dumbing it down??? I smell a new newby owner who tells Mozart to "just take out a few notes." "It's too complicated, you don't need all that, who uses that anyway, ..." We need more search, filtering, mass migration, mass deletion capabilities to manage LARGE datasets, not be restricted to using quaint "crossword puzzler past-time" level non-project type of product. THIS is who your users ARE!

hey developer of Session Buddy. Thank you so much for making this application, I just had one little issue, during the last update, I lost the option to overwrite historical collections. I use this a lot personally, every time I restart my chrome for updates. I understand that this might be a personal preference, however, I strongly recommend restoring this feature because it is so fundamental.

Due to a major update, the "previous session" has been changed to "history." For what purpose? During the "previous session" era, it was possible to select and delete unnecessary sessions. However, now that it has become "history," the only options allowed for users are to delete all history or wait for it to be deleted in chronological order as time passes. This makes no sense. In the settings, the limit is 500 sessions, and anything beyond that is forcibly deleted. Moreover, unlike before, sessions are now automatically saved at regular intervals. Even if the frequency is set to the minimum, it still saves once a day. What these two changes imply is that the sessions in the history automatically increase and once it reaches 500, they are automatically deleted. This means that sessions older than 500 days are not allowed to exist in this world. Although the settings allow for the period until automatic deletion to be set, the limit is 10 years. What does this number, 10 years, mean when only 500 days are allowed? Why is there such a desire to delete user sessions? Indeed, it's possible to save necessary history before it disappears and move it to a saved session, but this messes up the chronological order because it adds to the most recent. Please make it possible to individually delete snapshots immediately. If that’s not possible, I would like it to be returned to the original specifications. Also, if there are any computer-savvy volunteers out there, please share if there is a way to tweak the settings of this extension. The default maximum span for snapshots is one day, but if there is a way to change this to every 30 days or so, I would like to know.

大規模なアップデートにより、previous session がhistoryへと変更された。なんのために？ previous session の頃は不要なセッションを選んで削除、整理できた。しかしhistoryとなった現在、ユーザーが許されている選択肢はすべてのhistoryを削除するか、時間が経って古い順に消されるのを待つことだけ。意味がわからない。設定でも最大500個までが限界で、それ以上は強制的に削除されるようだ。 しかも以前とは違って一定期間ごとに自動でセッションが保存される仕様になっている。頻度を最低にしても毎日一回は保存されてしまう。 この2つの仕様変更が何を意味するかと言うと、historyに保存されたセッションがどんどん勝手に増えていき、500まで溜まったら勝手に削除。つまり500日以上前のセッションはこの世に存在を許されていないのだ。設定では自動削除までの期間も設定できるが、限度は10年。500日しか許されていないのにこの10年という数字は何？　なぜそんなにユーザーのセッションを消させたいの？ たしかに、必要なhistoryを消える前に保存してsaved sessionに移動させることもできるが、そうすると最新のところに追加されるため時系列がめちゃくちゃになる。 今すぐsnapshotを個別に削除できるようにしてください。それが無理なら元の仕様に戻してほしい。 また、コンピュータに詳しい有志の方、この拡張機能の設定をいじれる方法があったらぜひ公開してください。デフォルトではスナップショットの最大スパンは1日毎ですが、これを30日ごとなどに変更できる方法があれば教えていただきたいです。 追記 v4.0.2 によって、スナップショットの最大スパンを無限に変更することができるようになった。これによって毎日スナップショットが増え続けて古いprevious sessionが消されるおそれはなくなった。しかし依然としてhistoryを個別に消す機能や、ブラウザクラッシュ直前のセッションが自動的にprevious sessionに保存される機能は失われたままだ。
